The Town of Black Earth is requesting bids for the following road construction:
We request that all bids list each project separately. Bids are to be received by April 09, 2012. Bids will be opened on Monday, April 9 at 2:00p.m at 1116 Mills Street, Black Earth, WI 53515.
A Primary Election will held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

The Town of Black Earth has been dealt a big loss in the last few weeks with the unexpected passing of Danna Dee Turk, who was our town treasurer for 31 years. Again, we’d like to express our sympathy to her family.
We have made some changes for the tax collection for this year. Please review the following information. The checks should be made out to the TOWN OF BLACK EARTH.
The following address will be used for mailing and in person collection. There will be a mailbox provided by my front door if you wish to drop off your tax bills.

For residents to have tax bill payments considered timely before the end of the year (2011), please note that those payments must be received (not postmarked) by December 31, 2011.
If you want a receipt, please send the entire tax bill and a returned stamp envelope and I will return the top portion marked paid.
Dog Tag information is enclosed. If you need additional sheets, please feel free to make copies. We do need PROOF OF VACCINATION for rabies before a dog tag can be issued. We ask that you PLEASE write a SEPARATE check for the dog tags. The cost is the same as 2011 and is listed on the enclosed form.
The Town of Black Earth shares a transfer site with 2 other townships. The township residents may take their recyclables and junk to the site. A one year permit runs from January 1–December 31. Those who wish to purchase a permit for the first time should call the Town of Mazomanie at 795-2920.
Important Election News: YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A PHOTO ID BEFORE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO VOTE AT ANY OF THE ELECTIONS IN 2012.

There will be a special Town of Black Earth meeting on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Items on the agenda Discussion and possible action on the DaneCom Update.
A public hearing will be held ton Tuesday, November 15, 2011,to discuss the proposed 2012 budget for the Town of Black Earth. Copies of the detailed proposed budget are available from the town clerk.
This meeting will be held at 1116 Mills Street, Black Earth.
A special board meeting will be held at 6:30pm on Monday, September 19, 2011.
This meeting will take place immediately following the public hearing for the zoning map amendment.
On Monday, September 19, 2011 at 6:30 PM there will be a public hearing on a proposal to amend the Comprehensive Plan of the Town of Black Earth.
The proposed amendment is made under Section 3-1 of the Plan, and will designate an area consisting of three parcels on Kahl Road for possible commercial development. The hearing will be held by the Town Board and Town Plan Commission at the Town Hall, 1116 Mills Street, Black Earth.
